As delightful as banana cakes are, here I simply must say that Debussy's music, at its best, is positively Elysian.

Vive La France! :)
A day may be a destiny; for life

A look—a word—and we are wholly changed.

Although le banane français me plaît bien, I had to vote with Onslow: Nice!

Sorry, it's an inside joke with Karl.  He loves it when someone capitalizes the 'b'.  :P

Claude, le musicien. I just listened to "Danse sacrée, danse profane" for harp & strings ( Vera Badings/RKO Amsterdam/Haitink).

What do you think of "Le Martyre de St. Sebastien." Please pardon the spelling if not exact.  It's one of my very favorites.  It's dense, complex, and quite Debussyan in its rich, harmonic "language."

Clowdy Bussy is just heaven at sea.

... music is not only an 'entertainment', nor a mere luxury, but a necessity of the spiritual if not of the physical life, an opening of those magic casements through which we can catch a glimpse of that country where ultimate reality will be found.    RVW, 1948

How erudite, Christo!

As for me: exquisite! (with apologies to those unfamiliar with Pinkster)
