Yea,... no, I'm not listing winners, I'm just expressing my pffft at the eye rolling status quo when it comes to the establishment blah blah...

There were no winners, or nominants, that pricked up my ears, except perhaps Carter, uh,... no, not even that.

Anyone have any better opinion?

Brian

Yeah, the Bernstein Mass was robbed for best album. :)

Two artists were nominated for multiple CDs, and it might not be the artists one would expect: Valery Gergiev and Antoni Wit!

Maciek

I'm not sure if others are having the same problem, but I don't follow this sort of stuff, so it took me a while to dig up the proper list, to check what you guys are talking about. Here is a link:

Oddly enough, I actually own one of the CDs (and a winner, no less! :o ;D).

Another year, and no Grammy for Henning . . . .

Hang in, there, Karl, your day will come!  And what the hey, you're still young yet! ;)

I think you need to have a CD released first.  ;D

Hopefully, soon.

Until the Academy legitimizes Henning, I can't, in good conscience, legitimize them. :(

the Academy

Karl should also win an Oscar for Best Urban Lumberjack Elitist!  8)

One factoid I saw in the run-up to the Grammys show was that the artist to have won the most Grammys is George Solti, with 41 or 44.

Not that it matters.

I think these shows have no significance even for the fields where they at least make some sense, Rock, Pop, R&B.  Once you get beyond those areas, the members are clueless and just vote for what they have heard of, and/or what has sold the most that year.

IMO awards shows are nothing more than infomercials.

I have a Korg 12-track digital recorder just sitting here. All I'd need are a few microphones and for you to move to Minneapolis and we'd be all set to make a record!  :D

Perhaps we here can cull all our various talents and beat Wuorinen to the Brokeback Mountain punch?:o ;D

Bulldog

I watched about 15 minutes of the Grammy show and almost puked; the garbage just overflows.

Don - LOL!  ;D   I stopped watching the Grammys years ago - just garbage for my musical tastes -  8)

However, I did go through the LONG list of nominations and at the bottom were the few categories for classical selections - sad -  ::)   Dave
