Is it just me, or is Amazon.com incapacitated?  Last time I searches for something it told me that every single item was "unavailable."

It isn't just you. I just checked. It isn't working normally.

he was as f*cked-up as you are."

Amazon.com isn't working properly. Amazon.co.uk, however, seems fine. Nice to know we've got something right, here.

Whew!  I was afraid I had reached some sort of federal limit on the number of Bach CDs that can be purchased in a 12 month period.   ???

Well yes, there is that, too. I expect they'll be watching you particularly closely from now on.

Yup. I'm getting "We're sorry. The Web address you entered is not a functioning page on our site". If you're persistent you can get to some product pages.

I wanted to purchase the extended edition of the entire LOTR trilogy...I was told that they were out of stock...

Is this a sign of End Times? When I wake tomorrow should I expect to see the UK site infected and all Dm's predictictions coming into being?

I had better get ordering NOW!

Perhaps something to do with those supposed Russian spies.....they are arrested; Amazon goes down!

Like a monastic hermit, Dm has exiled himself to a single cave, refusing to come out even for a bath. I almost hope things turn out the way he expects; otherwise all his meditation on the end of times will have been in vain.

I remember once, I was ordering from a now defunct site called totalE.com (good prices on classical CDs).  I hit return and it never gave me the confirmation page.   After that i couldn't get on to the site at all for something like two days.  When I did get back on, my order was not there.  I was a bit disappointed, until the FedEx truck pulled up that day with my order.  Apparently their entire system crashed sometime between sending my order to the warehouse and registering the billing information.  I don't think they ever billed me for it.

Sarge, You are too nice. I would rather see us all come through, no universal starvation and with our pensions intact; sorry about that Dm.

I'm playing safe. I just put everything in my basket and pressed 'buy'.

So, Scarpia, the world crash was not prompted by banks tumbling....it was all YOU.

last active: the first of this month.

I'd like to know myself.

And I wouldn't mind knowing whatever happened Andy, as well. He stopped posting a while ago and deleted his myspace. Kind of like he disappeared from the universe...

Well, Amazon seems to be working generally but my shopping cart, where I had stored an fairly long list of items I was considering, has been cleared out entirely.  I have neither the time nor the patience to try to reconstruct it.  I guess it is good in a way, since I will likely be wasting less money on Amazon.com in the foreseeable future.

That was scary to read, but my shopping cart (95 items) is intact.  Maybe yours will be restored?
