God morgen!

Something wonderful to start the day:

No, no, no, that should be baroque my friend. Brahms in the morning??
You must be very robust! ;D

I'm Norwegian, Harry. You're right, of course.  ;D
I love music. Sadly, I'm an audiophile too.

As per the recommendation of someone here. Deserves 11 out of 10 stars.

Glad you liked it. Excellent disc.

Giovanni Battista Tibaldi/

Trio Sonatas opus 1 & 2.

Parnassi Musici.
On period instruments.

Again lovely music that is well played and recorded. The music is invigorating and cheerful, well written.
A treasure to every home this one is. Tibaldi is completely forgotten, and you will find no reference whatshowever in most reference books. In his music he leans somewhat to Corelli, and is very inventive. This is so far I know the only recording with his music.
Excellent.
Sorry could not find better image.

ALKAN: Sonata "Les Quatre Ages", by Marc Hamelin

The kind of work that provides Hamelin the best opportunity to show his incredible virtuosity.

Recovering with baroque...

Bach: Brandenburg 5. The English Concert/Pinnock. A bit stiff and sort of boring. My only set of the six this.

Can anybody recommend a set of the Brandenburger that do the boogie?
I love music. Sadly, I'm an audiophile too.

Is it even fair to talk about other recordings of this symphony?  :)

Good morning/day to all! I can't keep this disc out of the player. "Rituals" is awsome.

I never felt the need for any other recording of Brahms 4.
BTW: I'm a Wagner ignorant/resistant. I'll get C. Kleiber to do Tristan for me this autumn. He normally removes my indifference to any piece, so...

I definitely need to sample this.

The wife is spinning disc one yet again.

Being extremely weird, I'll often just spin the sonatas in Eb (major and minor) off of these discs, just cuz I love 'em sooo MUCH :) :)!

We told you you'd like these, Bill!

Then you have the same as I have my friend. I heard this disc more than 30 times, and still.

Absolutely unknown, but fine music, modelled on Corelli, but very much a own voice.
Perfect recording. Its almost OOP, found one on Amazon a while ago and ordered it, but although it was still listed, not availably anymore.
CPO recording.

Agree with you on the Pinnock. :)
Check this thread: Bach's Orchestral Music (Brandenburg, Suites and solo concertos), for some excellent recommendations.

Akira Ifukube.

Sinfonia Tapkaara.

Russian PO/Dmitry Yablonski.

Surprising this music is, tonal, melodious, rhythmical, this autodidactic composer managed to create a own distinctive voice, and a fascinating one at that. I am immersed in his idiom very much, and love being there.
Very well recorded and performed.
