Why are certain composers' works not recorded?

There may have been similar queries discussed on previous threads.  Yet for years I asked myself 'Why no recordings of the following'?

Vaino Raitio: Moonlight on Jupiter; Symphony op. 13; Piano concerto; Symphonic Ballade
Arthur Farwell: The Death of Virginia; Symbolistic Studies; Rudolf Gott Symphony; Prelude to a spiritual Drama

Alexander Krein: Trauer-Ode for Large Orchestra; Kaddisch for Large Orchestra

There are others, but I've always wondered about these possibilities.  Anyone out there have favorites whose works are unavailable due to lack of recording?

Two composers come to mind: Jacques Offenbach and Carl Czerny.

Offenbach wrote something like 100 operas/operettas, of which less than half have ever been recorded. I'd love to hear more and scoop them up like gold when something is issued (Vert Vert) or re-issued (les brigands). But there is so much more that hasn't seen the light of day in years.

Czerny was prolific, but I would dearly love to hear all the symphonies. While #1 and 5 were once available, I cannot even see symphonies #3 or 4 anywhere. Would love to hear these (considering the quality of 2 and 6).
Be kind to your fellow posters!!

I've always wondered at Novak's symphonies not having been, afaik, ever recorded. A number of his other works have been released on Supraphon, Virgin, Chandos, Marco Polo, et al., and some are of extremely high quality. As a symphony collector, it pains me that I can't hear his essays in that genre :(

Yes, another composer whose works I admire.  Fortunately there are recordings of several of his works.  I also would like to hear his symphonies.  There's a thread on him I do believe.

Julien, the sequel to Gustave Charpentier's opera Louise, was a flop and has never been recorded or revived anywhere after the premiere.
I wonder if it's as bad as its reputation, and would be curious to hear it.  Louise was recently revived at the Spoleto festival ,and I saw it many years ago when the New York City opera did it. I like Louise, even if it's notone of my favorite operas, and I think it might be worth a revival at  the Met with Renee Fleming or Angela Gheorghiu or Natalie Dessay.
