I have Vol. 1 of that set and am generally pleased although I am not a connoisseur of Prokofiev and don't have many other recordings to compare.

How do you like the Vox recordings?

I'm coming back to them after a long interval, Franco;  as a rule, I am finding these Martinon recordings pleasant, but not as vivid in recording profile.

(Not sure I've actually listened to this before . . . could qualify for First-Listen Fridays!):

Сергей Сергеевич [Sergei Sergeyevich]
Piano Sonata № 5 in C, Opus 38/135 (1923/53)
Sándor

Mahler, you ought to go see it.
he was as f*cked-up as you are."

What do you think of Sandor? Not a great virtuoso but I think he is a great pianist.
Do what I must do, and let what must happen happen.

Yes, although I wonder if he is perhaps a little cautious with the last movement of the Seventh Sonata, Paul.

Some days, I can listen to nothing but Prokofiev:

Сергей Сергеевич [Sergei Sergeyevich]
Piano Concerto № 4 in B-flat (for the left hand), Opus 53 (1931)
Boris Berman, pf
Concertgebouworkest
Järvi

Now:

Listening to Symphony No. 5 right now, which will be followed by Symphony No. 6. Such a fantastic set.

Braga Santos is so fantastic. Have you heard his 4th symphony yet? It's really an amazing work.

I bought it all as you told me to.  :D

But haven't digested it all yet.  :o

You bought the whole series? Excellent. I haven't even digested all of his music, but it has been a great listening experience.

Just now on BBC 3, from the Proms  : Luigi Dallapiccola's PARTITA  - really, a major discovery for me !

from the BBC:
The BBC Philharmonic returns with Chief Conductor Gianandrea Noseda to contrast the music of Italy and Germany. Canadian violinist James Ehnes, who has recorded all three of Bruch's violin concertos, is the soloist in the composer's most enduring contribution to the repertoire, and Sarah Tynan appears in the concluding lullaby to the Blessed Virgin Mary of Luigi Dallapiccola's ambitious Partita, the work which established the composer's international reputation.

Schumann's Fourth Symphony, continuing our complete cycle in the bicentenary of the composer's birth, constitutes one of the most exhilarating works in the Romantic repertoire

And for all the Braga Santos lovers:

listen to this

THe violin/orchestra work is just lovely and does remind me of Braga Santos . Especially the first movement has this voluptuous quasi exotic flavour ( Respighi/RVW mix!) .
Recommended.

Well, yes, I do not spend that much time on the internet - some brief glimpses, now and then.
Greetings from Belgium
