On #1, you do realize that ANY second hand smoke is considered quite unhealthy for you? And why should a non-smoker be forced to suck in their smoke in the first place?

You sound like a #1.  Given current laws, under what circumstances might you be forced to suck in smoke?

Sid

I don't drive, so can't comment on the things on the roads that p*ss you off (though as a pedestrian, hate it when I am about to cross a zebra crossing and a fool just drives through it as if it wasn't there - yes, I know there are idiots on the road). I can relate to the supermarket checkout ones - I am (again, being a dinosaur) a person who only pays with cash and used to dislike how those with credit cards always seemed to hold up the line. But now, something has improved, a credit card transaction takes about the same time as a cash transaction.

Another topic is food packaging. Here in Australia, cooking oil coming in plastic bottles has a seal that is very difficult to open. There is a tiny tab you pull to open the ring around the top, but 99% of the time, it breaks. So you have to - rather hazardously - use a knife or stanley knife to cut around the seal. Bummer.

I should have used footpath rather than sidewalk in my OP, maybe all the Americans here are influencing my ling :D. The thread also should have been titled "The Little Things That P*ss You Off" - if a moderator can correct this it would be an improvement!...

Reminds me of the IT Crowd--

In the whole episode though it was funnier.  The smoking area ended up being moved several blocks down to an unused bus stop bench. >:D

Smoking doesn't bother me in open air but I won't let anyone smoke in my apartment.

MN Dave

I can't believe anyone still smokes.  :P

4. Performers who make millions but have little or no talent.
Which all leads to one thing:
Most people's taste in music just sucks.

That should be a thing to add in this thread...

Or what about celebrities that haven't done anything?  Screw bad music and acting, we have people that are celebrities but literally do nothing.  Like Perez Hilton, what exactly does he do??

Maybe he is a celebrity because his name sounds like Paris Hilton?

He digs up dirt on other celebrities - an unsavory occupation, but it is "something".

The Firesigns coined a term for that: celebrazzi

Alright that is something.  But what Kim Kardashian?  She seems to be famous for having a reality show about her life doing in particular, or did I miss something?

She also starred in a rather "famous" video. She's also quite good at marketing and a rather astute business woman (in regards to her stores, perfumes, modeling, etc.). She's also brilliant when it comes to marketing her own very unique brand.

Thank you!  I was just about to write about how much I dislike that term in the title!   $:)

See the alternative above!

Brilliant she isn't.  Her mom manages her entire life.  From what I can tell, Kim is a child in a woman's body.

Kris, her mother, manages a portion of her contracts (generally only on the modeling side, although she also does handle some of the publicity and the public relations angles), but other than that, Kim does indeed manager her own business, and has branched out on her own to build her own brand (although, this is sometimes down in conjunction with her mother, but it is generally Kim who does the prompting; as with her perfume line).

Did her mother manage product placement contracts in Kim's sex video?  That's the origin of her celebrity, a parallel with Paris Hilton.

I don't understand why this "Kim Kardashian" is supposed to be so important...  ::)
