I believe every member of this forum will appreciate what Karl Paulnack had to say about the importance of music in his welcoming address to the students of the Boston Conservatory.

It's true.  I have had people tell me I reach into their souls when I play, and I can imagine no higher compliment.

*Yes, I know, literally, in a theological sense, that thing is me. But that sorta ruins the joke, such as it is. (Be fair. That joke is pretty feeble. Just reading it ruins it, pretty much.)
