I'll write an angry letter to the organizers of the festival ;)

I visited Carrot Top's home today with my friend.
Quite a drive through a surprisingly ungated community. His house is at the dead of the neighborhood, sitting right on the lake.
Too bad I didn't have a carrot with me- I would have chopped the bottom off and threw the top onto his driveway.  :P
Guess what color the house is?  ;)

Has anyone used Google today?

The late painter Bob Ross would have been 70 years old today.

There is a malware warning for epicgames.com...
should I take it seriously or not? Is this google's error or have hackers hacked the site and put malware on it? I don't want to open it up in another browser to find out the latter.

I need to use this site for a project that is due on Wednesday...

No reply, but it stopped doing that for the most part. Probably Google's error.

I'm having serious second thoughts about getting into video game programming after reading about the industry last night. The main thing is working 80+ hours a week for many months. Pay is incredible, but nothing is worth 80+ hours a week for that long. A typical computer programmer job (non-video game) is usually 40-50 hours a week, which is basically slightly less than I have to deal with now. Therefore, I might end up not even making my own computer or doing anything with UDK. Maybe I'll get an 8-string Ibanez with my excess money.

Anyways, an interesting phenomenon recently: I've been enjoying Mahler again!  :o It's been over a year since I really could enjoy his music because of over-familiarity. I'm experiencing the twisting of the soul that the 8th does and the ferocity of the 6th's opening movement like I did before.

Does this mean that when people have a cocaine addiction and stop for a year that the desire comes back?  :o

Maybe you just needed some variety.

I think you got it!  ;)

Today was... well, I couldn't possibly describe in words how intense it was. I had a 15 minute presentation for class that I had been working on for a week that I should slightly been nervous about was a joke in comparison.

Two things seriously threatened to set my graduation date back. First, registration was sooner than expected, so I registered the day after registration started and a class was full. (I was so focused on the presentation that next semester was the last thing on my mind). This class is only once a year and might be a prerequisite, meaning a day late could equal another year of my life wasted. So, my professor is going to get them to override this and let me in the class (she has done great stuff like this in the past for me).

The other thing is the Math retest to get into College Algebra. This was my only chance to not have to take Developmental Math, which would delay my graduation. On the practice test, I got 10 out of 10 correct, but the real test I took at 5 PM was very strange. I ended up passing by the equivalent of one question, not knowing throughout the hour and 40 minutes if I'd pass or not. Some of the questions I had never seen before, so I had to find alternate ways of guessing.

I filled up my car for $41 (how long since it's been that low?) and went home to sign up for the online College Algebra class.

And tomorrow another 14 hours minus 2 hours of "rest"... you know, I think I've begun to understand that those college kids that binge drink and party are actually very, very sad inside. It's probably the only time they feel alive.

Probably so. Although they are likely just woefully unprepared after just coming out of high school, which does almost nothing to get you ready for the whirlwind coming up. Nor does it teach you anything about time management, which is an extremely valuable skill. So many of my classes have lost a third or half of the students due to them withdrawing, and I'd suspect it's because they don't know how to allot the time to do the work required.

High school is a regular schedule and college is like the schedule with the rhythm and pacing of a retarded cheetah, so yep.
Probably most of these people have a full time job, which is doable, but you both have to have the energy to do both and a job that might let you leave sometimes in the middle of the day for a class which is mandatory, since (at least in my school) they don't have a night class for everything.

Oh, definitely. And if their parents didn't have it, they aren't going to get it either. But if they fail, it's their fault, right? Survival of the fittest, right? (If you're a Republican, maybe.)

Working and going to school are difficult to balance, but it is possible. At some point you're just going to have to give up certain comforts (like sleeping in, playing video games, etc.).

I'm actually trying to get a job at my school. That would at least solve the issue of traveling from workplace to classroom.
