I only ever heard an excerpt on a cd from the Box set I listened to earlier, but I'd like to hear more.

I certainly like the idea of Satie on guitar . . . .
Here's Luke's original post from Satie thread with the link   :)

have you checked out the Ubuweb Satie page? The piano pieces arranged for guitar there are so, so much better than one would think - not pretty hotel lounge muzak but steely, intense and very human playing.

I bought this box two years ago, and it has remained in my "to listen" heap.  I'm so grateful to those who pointed to "On an overgrown path" - wonderful music.  I look forward to exploring further soon.

Anton Bruckner--Symphony No.5 in B-Flat Major {Haas Version} and Symphony No.9 in D Minor {unfinished}, both performed by an occasionally off-key {?} Wurttemberg Philharmonic ORchestra under the baton of Roberto Paternostro. I've been trying to decide whether or not to pull the trigger on the HVK/Berliner Philharmoniker Bruckner Cycle box-set, which has just come down dramatically in price on Amazon.
Any Brucknerians out there with suggestions?

Though I don't have the HvK/Berlin box, I do have most of the recordings in their original incarnations, and they were my introduction to many of the symphonies. I still like the recordings very much, even if in subsequent years I've discovered other versions that I like just as much, in different ways. But if you like the "Karajan sound," you'll probably enjoy the box - if nothing else, the playing is certainly spectacular.

Now:

Listening to Loftr-Suite. I don't think I've listened to this work before. Love the Rite-like energy of the first movement.
