Is the practice of OVPP as contentious an issue as it in Bach?

Here a brief and clear explanation from the liner notes:

Now playing the following CD, another recent arrival for a first listen ...

Probably not, but principally because there are not many recordings of these cantatas, although the complete edition of them was published in 1937. Anyway, the sources include a limited number of indications, both in vocal and instrumental aspects, so they offer a good number of interpretative possibilities. As this point is very clearly explained in the liner notes, I think I will transcribe them if I get some time.  :)

Mahler: Symphony No. 6 In A Minor, "Tragic"

Onto the 6th Symphony in this box now - one of the more urgent performances I have heard so far. It works very well :)

I agree Daniel - I think the first movement is the best I have heard for this work. Enjoying the Andante now - I will return to this performance many times in future I think!  :D

Yes, it's probably Koopman during one of his feverish live performances.  :)

Jon Leifs' Réminiscence du Nord.

INCREDIBLE. Extremely powerful and moving. This composer is just outstanding.
Going to listen to Hekla now. Bracing myself, I've been told that the Rite of Spring is a walk in the park in comparison! ;)

I would not compare the two.
It is rather difficult to compare it to anything, really. It is an amazing work though.

Out of this world, Ilaria! Just incredible. I would highly recommend you listen to his piece 'Geysir' to get started on his music.
Just listened to:
