Those of you with itchy trigger-fingers for purchasing are probably the ones who can gloat today, as it looks for the moment like those totally amazing Wagner bargains at Presto were a mistake.  The Karajan RING is back to ~US$89, the Solti collected operas is back to ~$US96.  *sigh*  Helas.
Well, look at it this way, it saved you money! It looks like they accidentally changed the price to the sales prices, so that the sales price was doubly good.
Be kind to your fellow posters!!

Have to wait and see if they fulfill the orders at that lower price...  :-\

The Karajan Ring Cycle for $53 had to be a major error ...

Presto Classical charges your credit card pretty quickly - as soon as the order is placed.  That is somewhat unusual because most etailers do not charge your credit card until the order is about to be shipped.  It takes Presto 4-5 days before it ships an order based on my experience ...

96USD is still $15-20 less than the Amazon US/Amazon MP price (last time I checked), so I'll probably still order it.  I held off because I have a pending order with them right now, and decided to wait until I received notice that one was shipped.......

Oh yeah, having only heard Solti's RING, full price is probably still a "bargain" for the music.  Likewise the Krajan RING, I'm sure.  It does make me wish I'd splurged a bit less earlier in the week, though.  It's hard for me to be mad at Presto with them having such a nice site and helpful customer service.  We could perhaps send them an outraged petition?  "We, the niche, demand rock-bottom prices!"

And yes, MCU is right; my mistake did "save me money"!  That made me chuckle.   :)

I have always had the most excellent service from Presto.  They are always swift to respond to emails, and I have found their packaging to be the best around.  I have seen them - of their own decision - apply the reverse of this situation - I have ordered a couple of items which then went on special offer.  They have charged me the offer price, and refunded the difference to my card.  Without me asking.    :)

Their website is great, and I often use it for reference purposes.

Presto is quite simply one of the best. Mdt is first class as well, but unfortunately too expensive for p&p for me to use them much.

This Solti/Wagner boxset is actually my first order with Presto. Reading the above comments is reassuring :)

Good for them and excellent for you.

Meanwhile I'm still waiting for them to ship the order I placed last week (which they gave a ship date of sometime before tomorrow, so I shouldn't really be complaining....)

Ordered the Gatti/Tchaikovsky from this seller on 26 Jan and it arrived on 30 Jan. It is a wonderful listen and at this price don't hesitate.

Hafod,

oxfamcrouchend do come up with the odd bargain every month or so.  They had a batch of Haitink's LSO Live SACD, Bruckner 4th just in before Christmas @ £3 or so.  All are new and sealed which makes me beg the question as to "Where is/are a Charity Shop getting new and sealed top music from to sell for charity"?  Overstocks? surely not....

Plenty of boxes in my wish-list had their prices slashed today, sometimes by a significant amount. Even then most may not qualify SDCB status, but perhaps something is in the air that's making it happen. ;D

Definately something in the Air.

Tafelmusik, Musica Antiqua Köln / Goebel set in my wish list down from £9.99 to £6.92...just happened overnight.  Not a super bargain but super enough for me to purchase now as I can't see it going any lower.

Are these all at Amazon UK like the Tafelmusik? US $10 for that set is pretty impressive, I'm thinking I need to crosscheck my wishlist...

Yes. Do you ever visit Amazon Spain? I suggest you don't if you want your savings to be more or less intact. ;D
