A splendid recording. Listening to 3 Small Tone Poems. It's been awhile since I've heard this work.

Not my cup of tea yet. Too boring and dainty. Now I'm listening to incredibly silly ballets by Knudage Riisager. I think I need to detox with something serious and loud and Germanic.

Textbook critique of Delius' music. Boring, dainty, meandering...blah blah blah.

Well, obviously, that's because I read the textbook. How to Not Like Delius: Critical Readings: 2nd edition, revised and expanded, from the Johns Hopkins University Press.  :)

Trying to get that out of my head led me to this intricate flashmob, courtesy of the Vienna Volksoper.

And this rather kitschy film version by Ponnelle in which Orff himself was allegedly involved.  The production values are curiously low, and it may actually require more brain bleach than Nav's contribution.

ETA: They aren't.  What am I doing wrong?
To get the videos look for "Carmina Burana flashmob" and "Carmina Burana Ponnelle" on Youtube,

My only hope is you keep listening. The subtlety of his music is one of the key aspects of it. Also, please visit the Delius thread and read about the composer's life. Here, hopefully, you'll gain some more insight into the composer. There are many moments of Delius that are downright hair-raising, but you've just got to keep listening my friend.
