daily shed ;)

"Today she is Buddhist Nun Ru,
Yesterday she was Teacher Wang.
Although born to wear silken gauze,
She now wears only the roughest hemp.
Mouths that open and spew out lofty talk
Have no interest in becoming buddhas.
Leap out of the cauldron of right and wrong,
Cut off completely the road of life and death,
Then enter tiger's lair and demon's palace
With a heart that feels not the slightest fear. "

I've been thinking a bit like that lately. It helps.

The spoon is obviously too small and the lake too large.
Do what I must do, and let what must happen happen.

Am I the spoon, the salt, the glass, the lake, or the water in the glass or that in the lake? ???

You are #6.

The correct procedure is to scoop the salt up with the glass, add water with the spoon, but only water from the lake, and stir with your finger. Then, taste the finger and say: Ah! The lake water is salty...

Actual exchange with a co-worker at the MFA shop this past Wednesday evening:

She (inquiring in exasperation about the music playing in the shop): "Karl, what is this?!"

I: "It is vibrato we could park a Volkswagen bus in."

How do I tell the difference between a new Shed and a Comeback?

And do I need to know?
