For me, a close matter between two albums;  gave the nod to the earlier, for the panache factor.

I remember really enjoying the soundtrack for The Last Temptation of Christ, though for me it would not be a contender in this poll.  I should revisit the film, though.

Mahler, you ought to go see it.
he was as f*cked-up as you are."

So... for the duet with Kate Bush.

There is a live version with Paula Cole, which I like a little better.  But, yeh, I'm with ya'.

I have/know only So and Us. Peter Gabriel is a hit and miss artist for me. I hate "Sledgehammer" but love "In Your Face" (a masterpiece imo).
Spatial distortion is a serious problem deteriorating headphone listening.
Crossfeeders reduce spatial distortion and make the sound more natural
and less tiresome in headphone listening.

Us for about the past 15 years.  For the first 6-7 years it was out I barely listened to it.

Karl, you just had to start this Gabriel poll! Curse you! ;) ;D I'm on the fence with Melt and Security.

Largely as I would have expected, (a) like the Genesis poll, votes cast for a wide variety of albums, and (b) strongest showing for So, which, partly because it is a solidly good album, and partly set up by the prior air-play success of "Shock the Monkey," is probably Gabriel's most widely loved album to date.

Then, too, there is Phil Collin's wry observation, "This is something new for Peter, I mean, look at the cover, that's actually a nice photo ...."

And a good job that he worked in an album cover with a good-looking headshot, before he morphed into Uncle Fester . . . .

I finally decided: Melt or Peter Gabriel 3 all the way. 8)

I greatly prefer the live versions of the Melt songs contained on Plays Live (Not One of Us, Family Snapshot, Intruder, No Self-Control, I Don't Remember, Biko).

He changes a few of them up for the better, imo. Have you heard it?

I haven't heard Plays Live (yet), but I will remedy this on my next days off. I thought Biko was the weakest song on Melt BTW. Thankfully, it's the last song on the album. 8)

I owned the vinyl a billion years ago. Okay, maybe thirty years ago. :)
