Merle Oberon has been exposed! :o

Wuthering Heights is adapted from Emily Brontë's famous novel.

And no, it's not Sarita Montiel in that picture (who is she anyway? Milos, you have too much erudition!)

Sara (Sarita) Montiel is spanish actress and singer, really, really big star in 50-60s in Spain and Europe. She did make few Hollywood movies (Vera Cruz) but didn't stay there long. One of her films, musical La Violetera was, over here, one of those ridiculously popular hits that people went to see dozens of times again and again.

Here we go - Maciek's 5th edition, I think.

Since this is a classical music forum, I've come up with something different: an aural film quiz. It might turn out to be pretty easy, difficult to tell at this point. I know this might be a bit annoying to dialuppers but the samples never exceed 40 secs, and some of them are around 10 secs. It's a lucky 7 again. ;D The game for me is to try and rate the difficulties ;):

1) Not very difficult, I would think. But then again...
[mp3=200,20,0,left]http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/8/25/1381505/MM01.mp3[/mp3]
(Correct Answer no. 5 (1st and only in round 2): Scary Movie - Corey)

2) Probably easy...?
[mp3=200,20,0,left]http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/8/25/1381505/MM02.mp3[/mp3]
(Correct Answer no. 2: Fellowship of the Ring (LOTR) - Bogey)

3) The only reason it might not be very easy, is that it's a very short clip...
[mp3=200,20,0,left]http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/8/25/1381505/MM03.mp3[/mp3]
(Correct Answer no. 1: Monty Python:The Meaning of Life - Drasko)

4) Very, very easy?
[mp3=200,20,0,left]http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/8/25/1381505/MM04.mp3[/mp3]
(Correct Answer no. 3: Bertolucci's The Sheltering Sky - orbital)

5) Very, very easy again?
[mp3=200,20,0,left]http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/8/25/1381505/MM05.mp3[/mp3]
(Correct Answer no. 4: Weir's Picnic at Hanging Rock - Drasko)

6) Impossible :P
[mp3=200,20,0,left]http://www.fileden.com/files/2007/8/25/1381505/MM06.mp3[/mp3]
(Pan Tadeusz - no one even tried :'()

7) Piece of cake.

(La Double vie de Véronique - Drasko, who for some reason later deleted his post)

OK, so they are probably all very easy - but it's difficult to say, we haven't had one of these before. Maybe I'm delusional.

Drasko

This is terribly difficult, for me at least since I have poor auditive memory.

But ... No.3 is Monty Python:The Meaning of Life

Maciek

Yes, I had second thoughts about it - because it's not really the way most people remember films. If this proves too difficult, I'll add pictures as additonal clues tomorrow.

Your answer is of course right.

Here are the 2 pics I had in store for this one:

Bogey

#2 Fellowship of the Ring (LOTR)
There will never be another era like the Golden Age of Hollywood.  We didn't know how to blow up buildings then so we had no choice but to tell great stories with great characters.-Ben Mankiewicz

Maciek

Ah, so it's not that difficult after all! :D

You're right, of course, Bill!

An here's your prize:

(It seems I've reversed our traditional order: now the photos come after the quiz is guessed... ;D)

Bogey

#7 Audrey Hepburn in either, not sure which,:
Charade or Breakfast at Tiffany's

I believe you may have #4 Orbital.

Not sure about Chicago right?
I was reminded of the scene at the beginning of the film where the wife shoots the husband, but now I think I'm wrong.

Maciek

In a way, that is very, very close. 8)
