Florestan

I leave speculation, guesswork, and hunches to Nate and Floristan; I prove things.

By all means, it's true. Only, we speculate and guesswork about how best to design and build things people need (or are made into believing they need), while you prove things nobody except you and your caste cares about whether they are true or false.  >:D ;D :P

Here's a flattering picture of the Mrs.    Angle someone like this to take off 10 pounds.  Soft lighting to take off 10 years :)

Beautiful portrait, Al. I love the (market?) setting, too, the colors.

I used a different bag of tricks to take a decade or two off the ex (she was 57): a softening filter and fill flash.

Beautiful work, Sarge - fill flash is of course a must in that situation. Love the background, do you have any of just the reflections on the lake (preferably out of focus :P)

I know my ex took a few shots of the lake (she had her camera with her). I probably did too. I'll see what I have. If they are too obviously in focus, I'll run them through photoshop for you   ;D ;)

Wow! It's hard to believe she's 57, and I don't mean because of a filter and fill flash.

BTW, that's a row of motor scooters in the background of my picture. They are just parked in the street (the picture was taken in front of a McDonalds here in Taiwan).
It's all good...

They were easy enough to recognize, but I would have guessed they were in some parking space. An excellent portrait for sure, although I would make sure the mrs doesn't see the comments..

Shot with an Olympus E-300 at Silver Lake, Ohio, near my hometown, in 2005. This isn't the lake but a pond and swampy area near the lake. I didn't manipulate the images in any way except cropping and downsizing. The last one is my Monet  8)  Left click to enlarge.

Nice. Actually the 3rd from the bottom reminds me most of Monet (and is my favorite).

Lovely! I like the last two most, what with the leaves and branches messing up the others ever so slightly. Despite the subject matter, Caillebotte is whom I thought of when I saw the last one, not Monet - what with the lines from the reflections of the trees, and just the way he painted reflected light. :)

I'll pass on the compliment. She's used to hearing it (that she looks way younger than she is) from family, friends, and strangers, too, but I'm not sure she ever believes it.

You have a great eye, seeing interesting images in the mundane and transforming them into superb art.

Taken with my iPhone 5S with very minor editing done. From the Atlanta Zoo, and I certainly will allow luck to take some credit here...

You are too too generous, Sarge, but I'll accept the compliment anyway ;D

As geese have become a topic, here's a weird scene I encountered on my way to work one day

Great capture. Cropping for just the face works well too...scary stare.
