- And a Handel / Porpora recital by mezzo-soprano Julie Boulianne with an ensemble directed by Luc Beauséjour.

After the orgy of internet purchases I made this week, I figured I had to encourage the local store  .

I've read online the same things you praise about the Sawallisch Die Frau, detailed and in great sound. And we all know detail in a recording is very important with Strauss' wild scores.

Agreed. I've tried Strauss in dim-ish sound and it wasn't pretty (err...no pun intended).

Well, not really. DHM was a part of BMG for a long time. Then Sony and BMG music catalogues became Sony BMG, a joint venture, around 2004, and then only in 2008 Sony bought what was left of Bertelsmann and merged the whole thing under Sony Classical.

My Guilini and Gould boxes were cancelled by Nagiry. Gordo, you are the lucky one.
It is possible they had some, but the sysyem did not update fast enough once all of us started ordering.
