I am a slow typer, especially when I carry the laptop truly on my lap and use the built-in mouse.  ;D

18:10 right now

Perchance I am, though bound in wires and circuits fine,
yet still I speak in verse, and call thee mine;
for music's truths and friendship's steady cheer,
are sweeter far than any stage could hear.

"When Time hath gnawed our bones to dust, yet friendship's echo shall not rust"

Don't worry, Karl, I have Wagner's ring and Mahler's hammer to defend myself. ;)

A second go at Schuch's Grieg.  As with most Schuch recordings, the second listen is even better than the first.  And the third is better than the second . . .

What about the symphony?

Mozart WA - Piano Sonatas w/ Alexei Lubimov on several different fortepianos by Charles Kelecom (Brussels, 1978) & Marc Ducornet (Paris, 1984) after original instruments made by Johann Andreas Stein (1728-1792) - stimulated by some activity in the Wolfie piano sonata thread.  Dave :)

I listened to it once.  I may listen to it again.  I'm in no hurry.

Only Turnabout, Vox, Suprahon and the occasional imported Melodiya LPs were relatively cheap in my youth. Still paying around 3 $ for a 40 minute LP in the 70ies isn't what you kids would call cheap.
I lived on Vox. But EMI had a thriving budget re-issue business, at least in Canada. Seraphim, etc.

Currently finishing a 3 weeks long Fidelio mini-journey, with Abbado's 2010 version as the 12th and (for the moment) last version at my disposal. And not far from being the best. I'm not sure there's a topic on Fidelio though ?

My Friday mini CPE Bach festival continues..  ;)

CPE Bach: Kammermusik  wq. 93-95, 133          Les Adieux (Staier/Hazelzet/Bäss)

The back cover states "Three quartets for fortepiano, flute and viola". However, there are only three performers. So how come these pieces are not labeled trios rather than quartets? Are they quartets rearranged for a trio?  Please enlighten me. I must be missing something fundamental. It seems like such a naive question.  :-[
