All ladies today.  Figured I might as well sample some of Ms Kosuge's playing before buying her LvB cycle recordings.

Next time I go to the record store I'll go for Janina's disc. Unless I read a negative review by you ! She is a remarkable artist.

Nice looking order, Moonfish.

I ordered that, too. Have them as downloads but they're fully worthy of the cd treatment. Great price, too. Although I had to go for the slightly pricier Amazon UK in order to avoid Amazon US outlandish shipping fees.

Cheers!  I hope mine does too.  So which disc will you listen to first?

Gotta be the BSO Le sacre, I think . . . .

Good one.  Looking at the photo I can't but think: Wilfred Brimley.

Me too!

One of the highlights of a highlight-rich set.

Maybe consider the 1960 Death and Transfiguration after that.  Stupendously great.  If you don't like the work, Monteux can change your mind.

I found a note from DHL of attempted delivery when I got home today.  I will have to wait until tomorrow.

>:(

I have found that DHL [Japan purchases] calls me a day ahead with the tracking number, so I always leave a note in an envelope on my door asking them to leave the package. Didn't they call you in advance? The shipping from Am.jap is the best!

Bought earlier:

Hat tip to my bud Harry in regards to the Arthur Benjamin recordings, although I'm not sure how he feels about the concerti disc on Dutton. The samples sounded nice, though. The Harrison recordings were self-recommending. 8)

Just bought:

This looked like a good disc with some fascinating, seldom-heard works. Thomson's Filling Station and Kurka's Symphony No. 2 are of particular interest to me. I'm always on the lookout for mid-20th Century tonal American composers.
