If you're really strapped for cash, I'll send you 2-3 CDs in exchange for one of your vintage bottles of wine ;)

Yes me too, I have enough cd's to exchange

I listened to some of that at Neal's urging, and it was great! But don't blame Neal or me. :)

No, no, it's Harry. I read the ongoing listening saga on his blog. DON'T READ THAT BLOG, else you'll end up like me!  :o

Indeed - it was Harry and others here (Erato?) that got me onto that set in the first place. So I think it totally fair if we 'blame' Harry! He can take it - yet more good music 'foisted' upon us! :)
Be kind to your fellow posters!!

Hmmmm, well there are 10 cd's  in this box with only one real dud in it. But that's only my opinion, and I am very critical, even to myself. So you may even like what I dislike. Kidding aside, it's a great box.
I will reimburse you if you feel cheated by me, honestly ;) ;)

Ending up like you is to me not a bad thing, even if my blog is to blame. I am solely writing for the pleasure of others. :)

:D  I have every confidence I will enjoy it greatly. Not only do I greatly enjoy the Baroque music of 'Greater Austria' and Italy (Fux, Caldara, Tuma, Vivaldi etc), but I have 3 or 4 disks by Ars Antiqua/Letzbor, and they are among my favorite ensembles. Hard to go wrong there! :)

You are too kind, sir. I agree with you, writing should be a pleasure for you, but mainly the pleasure derives from pleasing others. :)

Which one would be the dud in your opinion? I've not progressed far yet (but also managed to get a copy of the one disc they failed to included, for whatever reason).

That would be CD 6, Moravia. Some really bad singing there, and narration, all in dialect German, trying to be funny, but they are not. Lots of applause and laughter on it too. On a few other discs some of the instrumentalists also try to do some vocal parts, and that is sometimes far below amateur standards.
But this said, looking at the price of this box and the good things on it, it's worth the money you spend on it. Just be prepared on some not so nice things.
This was my review of this disc

Yes, I was wondering about that one, should be in the box instead of CD 6.
