Yes and there's that incongruity of paddling a canoe along while wearing a tux. It's just weird.

If insects were great food there would be more cultures eating them.
Some do, but it's quite rare, e.g. compared to seafood one might find similarly repulsive. It's partly because they are usually very small, I'd guess, so people since millenia preferred other meat if they could get it.
(In fact there are 19th century recipes for soup with Maybeetles (to be used somewhat similar like small river crabs) that used to be so common to be sometimes like plagues but have been rare since the last half century, I remember them being rare when I was a child and I haven't seen one in ages)
