Highlights, in my eyes:

Bartok - Piano Concerto No. 3
Brahms - A German Requiem
Yuja Wang, piano
Matthias Goerne
Jaap van Zweden
Oct. 6-9

Lutoslawski - Concerto for Orchestra
Mozart - Piano Concerto No. 27
Brahms - Symphony No. 4
Francesco Piemontesi
Stanislaw Skrowaczewski (!)
Nov. 17-20

Beethoven - Symphony No. 8
R. Strauss - Horn Concerto No. 1
Bartok - Concerto for Orchestra
Karina Canellakis - clearly auditioning for the lead conductor job!
Jan. 12-14

Christopher Rouse - Symphony No. 5 WORLD PREMIERE
Beethoven - Piano Concerto No. 2
Respighi - Pines of Rome
Emanuel Ax
Jaap van Zweden
Feb. 10-12

I can put up with some of my least favorite Beethoven in exchange for the Rouse!

Martinu - Les fresques de Pietro della Francesca
Britten - Violin Concerto
R. Strauss - Also sprach Zarathustra
Vilde Frang, violin
Jakub Hrusa - also auditioning for the lead conductor job, I suspect
Feb. 23-26

Oh, and speaking of premieres, that Aaron Jay Kernis violin concerto that James Ehnes is presenting in Toronto and Seattle? Guess what:

Beethoven - Egmont
Kernis - Violin Concerto
Shostakovich - Symphony No. 5
James Ehnes
Jaap van Zweden
Apr. 6-8

Elgar - The Dream of Gerontius, complete
Jaap van Zweden
May 26-27

The Lutoslawski, Martinu, and Bartok would be reason enough for me to go. There's a million other things I'd rather see than Elgar's Gerontius TBH.

Add the one with Matthias Pintscher. I'll have to let you know if I'm going to any of these. I haven't been to any yet this season, BUT my dad and I are going to the Saint-Saens 3 next Sunday. I wouldn't miss that...
