Are you sure?  🤔

Karl's beard is a part of Karl. Karl is the unique object which is continuous in space-time with the object designated "Karl" at his birth.

Watched an interview yesterday with Stacey Williams, a former model who alleges abuse from Donald Trump.  Twice she pronounced substantive as "substanitive," adding an extra syllable. I know a lot of people make that mistake but it doesn't make it ring any better on my ears.  In fact, it drives me not a little bonkers.

I'm not so sure... In poetry and in figurative speech a part of something can be and is often used to refer to the whole.  Formally, such practice is termed a synecdoche. "Threads" for clothing; "wheels" for car; "Beard" for Karl, and in Coleridge's Rime of the Ancient Mariner : "The western wave was all a-flame" for a blazing oceanic sunset. ;D

Amazon's listing of the Japanese issue of the CD did have one, more or less. It left me wondering how many levels of AI were involved in translating and posting it.

Well, thanks for that - I've only just read it, which is probably for the best, since I had a minor operation a few weeks back and would certainly have burst my stitches if I'd seen your post when it was new.  Hope the Japanese Belt fitted, anyway (with a bit of luck, it was a Black Belt).

A local adult pop* radio station is giving away tickets for a concert by Andrea Bocelli this weekend.
I hope someone took the DJ aside afterwards to explain that Andrea Bocelli is a male and that his name is not pronounced Boselli.

*Meaning it plays Top 20 songs from about 1975 on up to the present, with emphasis on the last 20 years.

An Ohio college radio station which played mainly Classical Music too often had announcers, whom the professors had not properly prepared to pronounce composer's names.

Ever hear of the lady composer Sibyl Leeus ?

Then there was Richie Wagner ("Wag" pronounced as in a dog's tail).

Moe Zart,* one of the musical 3 Stooges.

One of my favorites was: Antonio Dwore-Ack the Italian-Kryptonian composer!

* I once saw a movie, in which a school principal (played by Morgan Freeman) yells at the Music Teacher for playing music by Moe Zart.

The line was: "What are you doing playing Moe Zart in your classes?  What the h... does Moe Zart have to do with anything in these kids' experience?"

Yes, the movie had a certain agenda!  ;)

And are there 20 songs per year from the 1970's which are worth playing?  ;D
