Because The Illiterati believe English still does not have enough confusing homonyms etc.!

e.g.  Bear (Noun) vs. Bear (Verb) vs. Bare (Adjective)

Is it REALLY so hard to say "synchronizing" ?!

Also, since I am already grumbling...

I find the use of Verbs for Nouns ever more annoying and a symbol of decline in the population: e.g. "in-vite" for "invitation," grates on my ears!

I know, I know: we have "shopping" from "shop" and so on, but some of the new ones are just grating.

Advertising geniuses are usually to blame!  Recently I saw an ad for some fast-food chain with this question:

"How do you burger?"

That question strengthens my vegetarian impulses!  :D
