Via MDT:

Good to see a new recording of the Barber concerto.

Octave

I see a Christian Gerhaher box set (and 2cd distillation) coming out in several days (Sept. 17); I could not see contents or mention of the box on his website.

First the 2cd survey:

Then the box (13cd, $36), no cover image yet?

2 CD Survey's tracklist

The other one must contain (at least almost) all of his recordings on Sony.

Oooh,  can't wait for November to get here.   I know what I'm buying myself for Chanukah. :P

Thank you for the heads-up on that one, Octave.

It's a very well-planned package, certainly, given the paucity of recordings of much of the material... already on my wishlist even though I'm not a big Hamelin fan.

Scheduled for international release 9 September 2013.  I've long wondered why this was never issued as a complete set, as opposed to the 3 DG Doubles.

I LOVE Bohm's Beethoven set.
Now if they'd only make a nice box set of his Strauss operas. :)
When all else fails, listen to Thick as a Brick.

Hmm, the concertos for solo keyboard performed on the violin.. ...interesting concept.

Seriously,  is producing a Bach concerto CD now a standard contractual requirement?
(And who is the orchestra? Amazon makes no listing for it yet.)

BWV 1016, 1017, 1041, 1042, 1060R

Her 12 friends, brother and father...she is on European tour with the same repertoire right now

Thanks.  I will, despite the griping, undoubtedly get it.

It would be nice if they also released a Quatuor Mosaïques coffret.

I am with you on that one - hearing them live playing Haydn made me long for such re-release  :( wasn't there an indication from someone/somewhere that there might be something planned for latter part of this year ?
