An obvious must have.  I wonder if Capucon switched labels.

OK, all the album artwork for Naxos distributed JUNE RELEASES is finally online! I will try to only post those that have not been posted previously, apologies if some are doubled up.

The Ives disc includes 20+ minutes of world premieres.

Intriguingly, Nicholas Rimmer also plays drums in Sonata No. 2.

"ten settings of Paul Verlaine arranged, linked, and scored with an epilogue by Robin Holloway" + La Mer

Ravel quartet, Introduction et Allegro, and a transcription of the Mother Goose Suite for septet by the harpist, plus Bruno Mantovani's Quartet No. 5 "Creation mondiale"

MORE JUNE RELEASES

Misleading - this is NOT the complete Kratt!

And, sorry to spam this thread and possibly drain your phone's battery...but...

But wait, there's more!!! (JUNE)

That's one single piece - a "symphony" a la Scheherazade where the violinist plays Merlin for 65 minutes

Stravinsky - Suite italienne
Poulenc - Cello sonata
Debussy - Cello sonata

vers la flamme

Good to see a Paavo Järvi release that does not have his face on the cover. (And good to see another recording of Tubin's Kratt, though I would have preferred the complete ballet.)

Before a certain person says it first, they play like English gentlemen. Rather lovely.

They're the early music equivalent of Maria Callas - always saying they're going to retire but . . .

He's done a bunch of recordings, some of them, like this, with quite interesting repertoire. Sounds like he's using a modern organ, small and nice enough. Someone to explore for me maybe, maybe not.

:) I would expect them to do.

And for me, I think.
I can see from the timings of some of the Bach works that his tempi are very slow.

Missed this one before. It's disarmingly beautiful.

I stopped tracking new recordings of these sonatas. Not that long ago there used to be only a handfull, but the past years that number has exploded - far beyond saturation point. :P

Yes, this Chavez set looks like a mandatory purchase for me as well.  I have some of this on LP.  The Violin Concerto with Szeryng is fantastic.  This recording of the Piano Concerto sounded awful on LP, but we have an excellent modern recording of that on Cedille.  I don't recall the Symphonies as being very listenable; I'd rather listen to Mata, Batiz, or the composer's other recordings on Everest.  But perhaps Sony can clean these older recordings up.

Well honestly, it's not a great cost or effort to try to make sense of what new interpretations are doing with the music. I think the music is interesting and can sustain the different approaches on record.

Sure? Because you were the one who drew my attention to this recording more than two years ago.
