Apparently, we will need to wait for a Guinea pig who reports about Harbach.  ;D

I have a great opinion of Belder, maybe even more in Soler than in his previous Scarlatti (also extremely good).

Yes, I saw that Brilliant box of 9 discs, 8 w/ Belder (first six on harpsichord, which I own, & last two on fortepiano) and one of double organ concertos; not sure I need the latter, so I could simply get V. 4 for about $10 on the Amazon MP and not worry about the Harbach for $100 or more - now I am curious 'why' Belder 's presumably 'complete sonatas' are on 8 discs, while Harbach takes 14 discs?  For those interested, Jed Distler's take on the latter release HERE - Dave :)

Charles Camilleri

Mediterranean
Piano Concerto No. 1 'Mediterranean'
Accordion Concerto
Malta Suite

Charlene Farrugia, Piano
Franko Božac, Accordion
Malta Philharmonic Orchestra / Miran Vaupotić

The three works on this recording come from the first phase in the musical development of Malta's prolific composer Charles Camilleri, and are some of his most rewarding and enduring works. The Piano Concerto No. 1 'Mediterranean' owes much to the Romantic concerto tradition but is suffused with the distinctive flavours of music from southern Europe and North Africa. A virtuoso of the accordion, Camilleri wrote a Concerto for the instrument that journeys humorously from the eighteenth to the twentieth centuries. The Malta Suite, a set of colourful dances, is widely considered the island' s musical emblem.

Because of his teaching appointments Camilleri is still remembered in the UK, USA and especially Canada. His memory is still vivid in his native island and the Waltz from the Malta Suite recorded in this disc is played every day in one of Valletta's main squares (Valletta is the Maltese capital). These three works date from his early Nationalist phase where he fused Maltese and Mediterranean folk tunes to 'art music' traditions, similar to works by de Falla, Bartók and Vaughan Williams. The music is brilliant and approachable; the Piano Concerto would make a good Prom piece.

The young, prize-winning, international recitalist Eren Süalp has constructed a programme that shows the cosmopolitan nature of contemporary guitar writing, exploring music from his own country, Turkey, as well as from Venezuela, Cuba, and England. It ranges from the witty twists and turns of Turgay Erdener's Five Grotesques through Bayraktar's Six Anatolian Pieces – evocative arrangements that occasionally summon up the sound of Turkish plucked instruments – to Leo Brouwer's powerful Sonata of 1990. Stephen Dodgson's Partita No. 1 is startlingly original and brings a unique sound-world to the guitar.

If you know the translation isn't idiomatic, then fix it. Not even closely related languages are just straightforward word-for-word translations, so of course translation between such different languages as English and Japanese isn't going to recreate phrases correctly.
Nobody has to apologise for using their brain.

Toivo Kuula (1883-1918), a Finnish composer with significant melodic gifts and a private pupil of Sibelius, is best-known as a tragic national-romantic composer of vocal music. Although Kuula's focus was in vocal music he took considerable interest in writing orchestral music and in his orchestral works he is often a conjurer of powerful Nordic moods. Kuula had also aims of becoming a symphonist but his untimely death left the project unfinished.
