Here's a link to the Piano Concerto: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K3aXoSuX2Zk

My browser no longer supports flash video, so I don't know how to embed videos these days.

This should help:

You're welcome. Here you go: https://www.good-music-guide.com/community/index.php/topic,2663.0.html
Nope, and that's the method I used to use. I still get the "The plugin is not supported" error message. Which browser are you using? I use Edge.

I also use a browser that refuses to load flash, the the forum's embedding function forces it to flash. An alternative is to just put the url and let users follow the link.

Mentioned here: https://www.good-music-guide.com/community/index.php/topic,2663.msg1405220.html#msg1405220

I'm done embedding videos with the Flash code, I'm now fully onboard the Apple train  8)

It should have the Youtube URL amid the garbled code, I just copy and paste it in a new tab.

This is the only forum I belong to that still uses flash technology. Time for an update and to join the 21st century!

Same.  I always find it amusing when someone posts flash!  I have no idea what they're posting because they usually don't bother to explain either. :blank:

The ironic thing is that youtube itself has depreciated flash, using other technologies as its default streaming platform, but GMG embedding function apparently forces to switch to a flash interface they keep around for backward compatibility.

The forum kind of just runs on what it runs on. An "update" would probably mean constructing a whole new forum.

The latest version of the forum software is visible here (in this thread announcing it); it's been patched up to 2.1.2. It is not compatible with any custom design/look that Rob may have implemented in the current version. Doesn't look like a ton of new features, but they include:

- you can tag a user by @name, like on Facebook/etc.
- you can save draft messages

I guess I should both explain and supply the "unadorned" link ... good to know!

A nine-disc reissue.  This may be reissue 173 of this recording, I lost count.  It is newly remastered - in 24/96!!!  There's a 216 page book.  Imagine what the fiftieth anniversary will bring.

I've not yet been listening to the Mitropoulos set because the shipment has been a Comedy of Errors, starting with it was released on 22 April, but initial supply was apparently low, and apparently I was not a priority recipient. Latest is: the lady at Sony told me delivery was expected yesterday, but the parcel is still sitting in Indiana, and when it gets to Massachusetts, nobody knows.

It seems at last to be en route ... but I'll believe it when I see it.

Note publication was edited by the late conductor David Lloyd-Jones.

The entire recording session. Somewhere the person who worked on all the original editing is crying.

Not only is Sony releasing the goofy nine-disc set of Gould's last Goldbergs, it is issuing a new LP pressing of the 1954 CBC recording.  Goofier yet, most or all of Gould's discography is being reissued on Blue Spec CD in Japan.  Someone buys this stuff.

Much more interesting is this 24 disc Arrau collection.

The hook here is that one version is in German and one is in Polish.  It may just be worth hearing.
