Quality, sir, as ever.

Oh, this is a quirky one. I'm not a fan of Riley's, but I'm sure this will delight some members here.

'The test of a work of art is, in the end, our affection for it, not our ability to explain why it is good' (Stanley Kubrick).

This probably isn't the most representative release. Only a few of Terry Riley's albums: In C, A Rainbow in Curved Air, Shri Camel, were released on Columbia, gaining wide recognition in large part due to the label's strong promotional reach. Still, these well-known titles represent only a small portion of Riley's body of work. Many of his more intriguing and less mainstream-oriented recordings appeared on other labels: Persian Surgery Dervishes, Songs for the Ten Voices of the Two Prophets, Poppy Nogood and the Phantom Band All Night Flight, Reed Streams, No Man's Land, The Last Camel in Paris, Descending Moonshine Dervishes, and others.

Of course, there are also a few albums of his music recorded by the Kronos Quartet for Nonesuch, and while they don't appeal to me much, many people will no doubt find them interesting.
