The new erato

#3620
Guitarist. He is probably a form of secondary accompanist on some works, hence the smaller font. Why caps? I have no idea. Silly.

Who is Carlos Bonell and why is his name in allcaps when everyone else's is written normally?

He's a guitarist. And perhaps because he's less famous that the other four? His name, while in all caps, is smaller than the other names.

Edit: Erato beat me to it.

Quite a famous English classical guitarist probably most renowned for his interpretation of Rodrigo's Concierto de Aranjuez [still my favourite version].

He suffered from reverse eecummings disease.

I bought the original CD release (1982):

It was one of the first classical music CDs I ever bought.

Does this have the air of inaugurating a complete set?  (Or, have they already recorded some LvB?)

Incidentally,  and in their younger pre HM days (as the cover photo testifies).

Actually two takes of 18/6, so this is technically their third recording of that specific work.  The second CD at least consists of concert recordings.
Did not know the BBC disc existed until I went looking for the image of the other CD, so I ordered it for under $7 inc. S/H.

Are you sure the 18/6 on the BBC disc is different from the Debut? CD? I have the BBC and it is quite good as far as I remember, although I probably cared more about the Haydn and Shostakovich.

IMHO the Collins integral stands right up there with no more than couple of others as the finest ever made. The rest should be icing on the cake. Whatever the rest is... Any details folks ?  ;)
