The Mad Hatter

I cracked the screen of my mp3 player, and half the buttons don't respond any more. No more Glenn Gould.  :'(

Mark

What's your player? Make? Model?

Sorry for your loss, by the way. :(

That's the spirit! Keep looking on the bright side!   ;)

the bright side is that now you have an excuse to buy a better and bigger mp3 player.

It's rubbish, basically bought because it was the cheapest big-memory I could get. An ibusbi Max. Yup.

Just kidding with the GG comment. It seems like mp3 players are carefully manufactured for planned obsolescence. When my wife was having trouble with her ipod, the staff person at the Apple store said, "Well it is almost 7 months old".

you should work on memorizing your music instead of relying on equipment to memorize it for you

no, no, Apple Ipods are in general very solid, there is no reason to avoid Ipods, they are the best-selling MP3 players because of their high quality.

I've just avoided them so far because of threats of 'organising' my mp3 collection, which I've spent years carefully cataloguing.

greg: I can memorise music, not performances. :)

Szykniej: My mp3 player was obsolete when I bought it. Don' mind having dated equipment, as long as it does the job. My 20gb brick...

i was just kidding, lol

just makes me think....... and this is a good question: Why do we feel the need to listen to music audibly when we have it in our head? What's so much better about hearing it? I have the Mahler Piano Quartet in my head right now, i can play it from beginning to end, but why is it that i'd really wanna put it on the CD player? hmmmmmm

mahlertitan

mahler quartet, Lol, i guess i am not the only person who listens to that.

Funny. I don't know a single iPod owner who hasn't had to send their player back for whatever reason ...

Because Bernstein and the VPO, say, play Mahler better than my head does :).

funny, i don't know a single person who is not satisfied with the ipod they own.

maybe we export the defective ones to Britain, not much business there anyways, since they rather prefer their huge/obsolete CD collections.

Add me to the list Mark.

This happened to mine

luckily just within the warranty period, so I got a replacement. Not sure if I'd get another one again though, but I'm rotten at researching these kinds of things.
