Ordered these Friday from Arkivmusic but haven't gotten around to posting them yet.

Quatour Ebene before they hooked up with EMI (Bartok and Haydn)

Sorely lacking in Shostakovich's songs and Arkiv has this on clearance for $19.99

Many bon-bons in this box, and almost all of them I have no recordings!

and finally, filling out this series

You might want to post the Katsaris cover to the "Worst CD Cover Art" thread :)

Indeed  ;D  When I saw it yesterday, I initially thought it was an April Fools joke  :D

Doesn' he look a little like Maazel, but with selfirony?

The first symphony. More romantic than I would have thought, and no Sibelius here, but this will go down very well with the Vaughan Williams/Atterberg/Braga Santos crowd!

Wrong thread. Will move.....

Looks very nice! The Lebyadkin Songs must be the only version they have a license for . . . I have that original release, Fischer-Dieskau's voice is superb, of course, but his Russian diction is . . . inadequate.  Not a deal-killer, to be sure.

That looks like the only redundancy, so I'm in!

This will be my third set of Ives' sonatas and these really are the best performances, very spirited and intimate.

I know the recordings with the Wiener Phil, I've never listened to Maazel's Sibelius, with the Pittsburgh Symphony; tell me what it is like once had a listen to it. :)

Given the size of my listening pile,  it may be a while.  But definitely before the end of the year :)

Oh, how wonderful. I really like those works, Karl. I hope you do too. Are you a fan of Part's music?

Arrived this morning: Bax 5 conducted by Thomson; Ansermet's Glazunov (recommended by MAD); and two volumes of Fischer's Haydn (symphonies 21-39 and 70-81) that plug several gaps in my Haydn collection.

Daniel, when are you going to place that large order you were telling me about?
