Landed today:

Listened so far to CD 6 (Symphony No. 9 and Job) and CD 1 (A Sea Symphony).  So far, I'm impressed--especially by Job, but that may be because it was my first listen ever to that work.

Job: A Masque for Dancing is one of RVW's best works outside of the symphonies IMHO. The beginning of the section Job's Dream never fails but to put me into a different place entirely. Overall, I like Andrew Davis's set, but I still prefer Thomson's and Boult's (EMI) cycles.

Haven't heard the first two, but "English Spring" gets a big thumbs-up!

Excellent, Brian. English Spring contains one of my favorite Bax compositions Spring Fire, which I only had one performance of.
