Brian

So sorry Daverz, should have alerted you that my Silvestri order was from ImportCDs!

Brian

Now I want to buy it so I can take a picture of my box in front of a picture of Gordon's box in front of a picture of Olivier's box, and then Sarge can take a picture of his box in front of...

EDIT: Gordon reposted, so this post is in reply to the post BELOW it.

Just checked the CD-Rom. All it has is 2 PDF versions of the 96-page booklet (one high res at 43Mb, one low res at 4mb).

Picture of the boxset itself. I like the layout of it with the standalone receptacle like that.

Came across it for the first time in a three-part BBC documentary on Spanish Art in the last millenium. Very informative for someone like me who didn't know much about it to start with. Especially shocking, to the point of feeling slightly physically uneasy, was to know that Goya, whose name was introduced to me through the famous 'Saturn' painting, was the one who painted this:

Sounds interesting...

Here's a review from Amazon UK:
QuoteThis DVD focuses on Mr Graham-Dixon waving his arms around in a lunatic fashion, while he babbles away. We see more of Mr Graham-Dixon than we do of Spanish art. He's in your face for over half the footage, and it's very irritating! Why don't we get to admire the art without him and his garish screaming-red shirt in the way all the time?

I love this Goya's etching:

I think I should have further qualified what I wrote: by 'informative' I meant enough pointers, as it were, for the newbie to explore further. I wasn't too fond of his presentation, either, and the air that he seemed to put on.

Looks like another to buy.  Oehms has a very good track record with me, plus it's another set of these great works . . .
