Congratulations!  You have now replaced Harry as our "hungry consumer".
A temporary "distinction," no doubt.  I do this only a couple of times a year.  Harry seems to do it every day!

I ordered Shostakovich's String Quartets performed by the Emersons, and Boulez's Schoenberg Serenade (along with something else that slipped my mind).  I'll say what I think later when I get them and have a chance to mull it over. :)

Who else do you have in the DSCH QTs, David?

not edward

Turned this one up in a second-hand shop. I'm not quite sure why I took more than one second to decide on buying it, but I did.  :o

The Chandos Borodin or Virgin? The former is the most incredible DSCH performances I have heard.  :o

The Melodiya release--

:) Better than the Chandos IMO, but that's highly debatable I'm sure. ;D

I have only the 14 and 15 from that set, and while I enjoy it, I find it lacks that last bit of depth that the earlier Chandos performances possess.

Oh and the Chandos doesn't have those SQs right? so it completes your set. :)

And even the Monkeys. ;D

What Duran Duran has to do with the Partridge Family is a mystery for the ages.

That will be the subject of Dan Brown's next bestseller. ;D

I swear, the humor of your posts is improved by the fact that every time I read them, I hear Cary Grant's voice in my head.  ;D

No, it's from your box, same cover art too. It's the last CD with the SQ.  ::)
