There was a commercial during the NBA finals last night where they had 50 cent conducting an orchestra.

That'd be cool, i'd like to see him conduct one day  :)

It is certainly more interesting than the NBA Finals itself. Is anybody out there watching??? I can't even sit for 10 minutes for a NBA game nowadays. That Detroit/Cleveland Series is soooooo boring.

greg

yeah, i'm the same way. It's hard to sit for a long time and not wanna do something else.

but..... i actually want Cleveland to win! Why? The Spurs have already won enough. It's more interesting when a new team wins every year. Thank God the Bulls and Lakers are over with  0:)

PerfectWagnerite

I am with you. I can't root for the Spurs. Give somebody else a chance already ! The NBA couldn't have had it worst when it is the SPURS that is the dynasty. San Antonio isn't exactly a basketball mecca as far as I know. I bet they are hoping that the Lakers, Chicago, Boston, or NY would be the dynasty team.

dudes! who cares? it's baseball season! play ball!!!

;D

but what if Cleveland keeps on getting better and then they make their own dynasty, winning five titles in a row. Now that would be bizarre  ???

Well, if it gets very "hard" when you sit for a long time, then if your hands are free you could always find something else to do.
But then again, you've probably thought of that already.

The game last night was indeed a snooze-fest, and everybody pretty much knows the outcome of this series (another Spurs championship). I'll probably tune in for game 3, but that'll likely be the extent of my viewing of this series. Sure, I would expect Cleveland to win one game at least (probably game 3), but unless Duncan or Ginobli goes down with a major injury, there will likely be no rejoicing for Cleveland fans here.

The Spurs are indeed good at winning, but they bore me. No one outside of San Antonio would claim that they are anywhere nearly as compelling as highly successful franchises from recent memory like Magic Johnson's (or Shaq and Kobe's) Lakers, Larry Bird's Celtics, Michael Jordan's Bulls, Isiah Thomas' Pistons, or even last year's Shaq / Wade Heat! People are already crowning LeBron the next Jordon. He'd better step up in this series big time to live up to that and give his team a hope in hell!

And ABC's coverage SUCKS. Their suspended, swinging camera makes me dizzy and their commentators are stupid. I'd much rather listen to the TNT guys!

but what if he was a really good conductor, who conducted a variety of music just as any other conductor would?

then...... it would bring in more young people to serious classical music. It's just what concerts need- what's so cool about a conductor who looks so old he's about to die any second? It's easier for younger people to relate to someone like him.

Never. Classical music should never sink down to the level of popular music. Especially rap.

To a jerk like you, anybody over 30 yrs of age looks old and is about to die.
What about talent, experience, wisdom, respect and knowledge of the score? All things that can only be gained by years of work. Does that matter to you? Apparently not.
Oh, excuse me, I forgot. You can speak 6 languages, even though you can't think rationally in any of them, so you're special.

It has nothing to do with sinking down. Just read the first sentence.

what if he was just like Karajan as a conductor and had the same musical tastes, yet his personality and appearance were 50 cent? I don't mean he should change music like he did in the commercial, but he was just a guy anyone can relate to, who did the same stuff the great conductors did. Wouldn't that be cool?

Wow, you definetely go overboard with the exaggerations and false assumptions :D

Serious art music has never been something the "everyman" could relate to. I don't think having a young conductor would change anything.

(BTW, do you really think 50 Cent has a good personality? He seems as dumb as aboxarox in every interview I've seen.)

Best observation you've made in awhile.  :)
