So, this morning, I just finished reading an article from the Orlando Sentinel which I couldn't believe someone would seriously write.
The basic gist of the whole article was that all of the right-wingers who disagree with Obama are all racists.

A few observations:
1. He says that it's unpatriotic to not support your president, and then says bad things about Bush. (the latter is okay, but the former is ridiculous)
2. He says the right-wingers would turn their back on Christianity if they found out Jesus was African and Obama were the Second Coming. (...)
3. He uses a line from the Bible to back up that Obama was appointed president by God. (using the same logic, so was Kim Jong Il, Hitler and Stalin)

I couldn't really takes sides politically much since I don't think I know enough, but man, what an insulting article. I bet the dude ruined lots of peoples' morning by calling them racist.
The best thing to do is laugh at it and be glad to not be so retarded, I guess. And the guy was a professor of law (!)  :o

Not much to say without a link to the actual article. ::)  Who knows, it could have been a parody like Brian's, but can't say without seeing it. :)

Yes, I would have to see the whole article, but I believe that some of the criticism of Obama does have a racist subtext.

Much like criticism of Bush does, my dear Judeo friends.

CMG is a neocon haven. I like my conservatism to be genuinely European in nature and not based on some half-baked patriotard ideology who's only purpose is to con the American people to serve the interests of Israel.

I think this is the article Greg's talking about:  http://www.orlandosentinel.com/news/opinion/orl-edporl-jeremy-levitt-09xx09091509sep15,0,1528050.column

Oh there we go, thanks Wendell.  Jeez that's awful, that couldn't be tongue-in-cheek at all.

It's just funny when you say it, "JdP"

Reverend Manning hates Obama because he is a racist amrite?

The whole controversy seems directly analogous to the one on Wagner's music; there can very well be a sizable majority who dislike Obama because of his politics. Just like there can actually be a sizable majority who don't like Wagner's music because they don't like Wagner's music. In other words; sometimes a cigar is just a cigar... :)
