'BTW, do you really think 50 Cent has a good personality? He seems as dumb as aboxarox in every interview I've seen'

Best observation you've made in awhile.  :)

I have them once every blue moon.  ;)

but what if he was a really good conductor, who conducted a variety of music just as any other conductor would?

then...... it would bring in more young people to serious classical music. It's just what concerts need- what's so cool about a conductor who looks so old he's about to die any second? It's easier for younger people to relate to someone like him.

He makes a career of misogynistic lyrics and his own inability to compose an English sentence.

Other music?

The CSO associated with a rapper? I would scream in agony, and move to Berlin.

Serious art music has never been something the "everyman" could relate to. I don't think having a young conductor would change anything.
hmmm..... maybe yes, maybe no. If they have a good association, it could draw them into the music and open their minds. But still, most people probably wouldn't get it and just think the guy's crazy. It might actually work for some people, but not a large percentage.

Bonehelm

I can't even stand orchestras backing up a pop singer in concerts..let alone giving this horrible man the conductor post.
