I have a lady in my household who does not understand my fascination for W.C. Fields, Laurel and Hardy, Buster Keaton, The 3 Stooges, Green Acres, 1970's-early 80's Steve Martin, and yes, Mr. Bean.

In spite of that she still allows me to be her husband!   0:)

I don't, either. That's a pretty wide field. I love Keaton, Fields and Steve Martin, but the rest I can take or leave. Green Acres and the Stooges I mostly leave.

Strangely --- and I am embarrassed to admit this --- I have never seen Mr. Bean.

Well, but Mr Bean trying to change discreetly into his swimwear is a tour-de-force.

But it's weird: I've liked Rowan Atkinson in everything else I've seen him in, but the Bean persona doesn't interest me, proabably because it's silent for the most part, and I think of Atkinson as a brilliant talker.

Guido

It's very different from the rest of his work, certainly. I remember watching it as a kid but my parents thought it was moronic so didn't let me see it often! I should have another watch of it.

I've watched Mr Bean with my mom-in-law, so it certainly passes the Suitable for Grown-Ups threshold.

Mr. Bean is definitely one of the best parents-watching-with-children shows, with both able to have enjoy it immensely. It's a shame that yours didn't like it, Guido :'(

Speaking of Rowan Atkinson, I love his Blackadder series, especially Blackadder the Third. I first saw this tv series back in the 1980s on the U.S. PBS channel and I just love Atkinson's character Blackadder. I also love Hugh Laurie's performances in this series as the Prince Regent.

sarge, Thanks for the Mad Men link.  Good to know that eventually I will see the next series. I am never around on a regular basis to watch a series on TV, so I wait until I see them at reasonable prices on the Net. Might be a while beore I catch up on them all at the Ad firm.
