Some people here actually are musicologists, God help 'em.

Ah, but maybe we are being trolled. By an idiot.

i can't let you sink me to your level so i won't respond to you two anymore but there is no restriction to read the posts here prior to registration. how you attack won't change what it is anyway. but it's sad to see such people considering themselves in line with an elegance that is classical music. thanks again for making my point.

there was no insult in my point. you, feeling insulted, is the problem. and yes of course i'm an idiot as i don't share your opinion...
Maybe you would earn some respect if you actually participated in the forum and actually showed some knowledge intead of basically telling us you don't see any use in being here? And a short introduction to let us all know where your superior knowledge comes from wouldn't be amiss. Me, I'm a layman and have never prended to be otherwise. But I have never pretended to posess some superior knowledge either, I just post observations from my listenings, either you read it or you don't.

But that is the whole point! You admit that you read all these posts before taking the trouble to register, and just for this attack on our society.

That is indeed impossible, as you knew if you'd looked up the dictionary for the definition of 'sink'

i can't let you sink me to your level . . . .

Another possibility is to raise the level by the manner in which one continues the discussion, yes?

Yes, so far you have acted like a great lover of elegant music. Apart from insulting a roomful of strangers. And not actually talking about music.

There certainly is a hint of that ol' plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose vibe . . . .

But one way in which it has changed is (and to me, obvious) that I periodically 'meet' affable newcomers. Like this MN Dave dude, f'rinstance.

Nope. GMG hasn't changed...

;D :D ;D

I'm trying to figure out if Raven is really a newbie or a disgruntled former member. I'm betting on the latter.

Good call. I mean, why should a fresh newbie come in a-brawling? One who isn't MI, I mean . . . .

I used to like liked the brawling MI.   :o    :D
It is certainly not a 'new member'.  Whoever it was, they imitated bird like qualities by flying past, having a shit, then circling around for more bait.  A most cowardly raven.  WHO ARE YOU RAVEN?   :P

Most probably - the non-capitalizing of the word "I" might be a clue IMO in this respect..... ::)

I think it is member who left a while ago - condescending, vitriolic, egotistic - rings a bell?  ;D MI was much nicer....

[empiricallyunsubstantiatedprofilingofonlinepersonalities]That person is a different kind to The Raven, I think. The former type's conviction in his or her opinion, howsoever it may be at odds with the rest of the community's, will come back under a recognisable guise. The Raven, however, if he or she is indeed a former member, had a decent stand initially but likely fell out later with most, if not all, of the group.[/empiricallyunsubstantiatedprofilingofonlinepersonalities]

Ditto.

Or perhaps Raven Forever is a brand new member.....ooops, I mean 'The Raven'.
