30... probably almost 31, or maybe 31 by now. I don't know- saw her 4 years before that, and who knows however many years before that. I used to see my dad much more before he moved to Kentucky (then it went from a 2 hour drive to a 12 hour drive to see him).  ??? :D

Your sister had two daughters by the time she was 12 (or is that an optical illusion too)?

I can't remember the ages exactly. I was about 7 or 8 when I heard about one of them being born, and it might have been the second one. By the time she had both, my best guess is she was 16.

I see, no use wasting time, I guess.   :)

Why guess?

Age of sister - Age of sister's daughter = Age of sister at time of birth of daughter.

You see, the oldest I was, when I should have found it amusing to pick a statue's nose, I was much too short to reach.

Age of sisters's daughters = unknown.  :D Somewhere between 14 and 16. The older one (blonde one) might be freshman in high school. I don't know, because that was the first time I even saw her.

What do you do nowadays? Use peanut butter?  :D

I guess so, though it isn't too uncommon. It is common to have kids before turning 20, though- nearly half of the girls I've worked with did. I also know a few guys who are probably younger than me who have kids. I could imagine it must be challenging, though.

Here's a couple of pics from when I went to Kentucky. My sister just decided to upload them on facebook, so now I have 2 of them.

Left- me; Middle- sister; Right- dad.
This is the big clock in Somerset, which gets really loud whenever a new hour strikes.

The two below are my sister's daughters (my nieces)- even though they look barely younger, or almost the same age (I'm only about 6 or 7 years older than them, I think). They like to take pictures, so that's pretty much all we did  :D. There really isn't anything to do in Somerset...  :D

uh,...hey,....Greeeeeeg,... wanna be best friends??

This typifies your problem with girls/women in general, Greg. This is the first time you've seen them and you didn't bother to ask your sister or her daughters the most basic questions about their lives?...like what grade they're in, how how old they are?  ;D  Dude, you desperately need to learn how to make conversation  :D

OK... can I call TMI? I'm trying to (but very nearly can't) ignore either the sordid family affairs of GMG-members or fellow member oogling the very minor nieces of said members... in fact, I'm beginning to feel uncomfortable even with the word "members" at this rate.  ;)

Why did you quote me? I'm just curious as to why Greg doesn't know the ages of his sister and nieces (I've no interest in knowing myself....any female younger than 53 is too young for me  ;D ) Nothing pruient here.

What about 52.5? Or what if they're on a CD cover?  ;D

Jens, I have not noticed anything that concerns me here and believe me, I have in the past stepped in when I felt there was an unhealthy interest being shown. Esp re Sarge's contribution....I can entirely see his line there; greg does seem to have dropped the ball in making entirely normal enquiries into his relatives' lives. As a result he is unable to relate a sensible narrative about them.

An observation on greg, not a criticism from me.

An easy feat, of course. Queen Victoria was not much of a prude, especially in comparison to her husband, Prince Albert. Victoria had an immense fondness for paintings of nudes, and Albert, as a good "Victorian" (ironic term!), thought that nudes were awful and needed to be covered up. On at least one occasion Victoria used her higher rank to play great tricks on Albert by planting his favorite rooms with nude paintings when he thought they were safe to look into!

;D I just googled the matter and found this hilarious article, in which Albert is on record looking at a painting of dancing nymphs and making the silly observation that he "thought it rather nude."

Hey, have not seen how Brain is looking in London!
