Harry

I've always had great respect for Paddington because he is amusingly English and a eccentric bear He is a great British institution and emits great wisdom with every growl. Of course I have Paddington at home, he is a member of the family, sure he is from the moment he was born. We have adopted him.

Hope you had a good Thanksgiving yesterday!

I spent the day listening to more music than I had expected. A s***-ton of Haydn (Autumn from The Seasons and symphonies 56-64) and some Messiaen (Canyons..., TS, TPL).

Thanks, Nate. I need to listen to more of Haydn. I really enjoyed all of his music that's I've heard so far (a lot of symphonies, concerti).

Sherbakov and Katsaris seemed the last word in this repertoire, but this guy has set a new standard, IMO.  :)

Not right now, but yesterday... The wife's excellent choices for our Thanksgiving Day listening here in the chilly northeast U.S. took us back to England:

Yes, second listen.

TD, Frank Martin, Cinderella. Which is a gorgeous score.  I've been on a bit of a Martin mini binge the past couple days. I am quite taken with the viola sonata.

Very cool. 8) Frank Martin, of course, has become a favorite of mine. My favorite work is probably a toss-up between the Cello Concerto and Polyptyque.
