Andrea Lucchesini plays the very dramatic Berio sonata. A half hour long coherent sweep in which this poor little b flat tries to  overcome a bunch of very nasty attacks by the other notes on the piano.

Sounds interesting!

There are worse fates.

(Not going to suggest any.)
I'll suggest one.

A fate worse than listening to Haydn 93, 96, 97, 98, 99, 102 and 103 is listening to Segerstam 93, 96, 97, 98, 99, 102 and 103!

If you have the Dohnanyi recordings of Mendelssohn,  you have the Athalie there.

One more for the List. Thank you.

Finishing the Charles Rosen Sony box with the final three Beethoven sonatas

Going by the Amazon listings, both CD reissues of this performance are OOP, like much else in this set, so for those interested, the set is by far the cheapest option even if you only want some of the recordings.

eta: or maybe not, now that I see the Amazon listing starts at over $200.
I guess they let the set go OOP too.

Berio: Sinfonia (Christian Baldini, conductor / UC Davis Symphony Orchestra / Volti) - Quite good, and shows once again just how far today's music students have come, that they are able to play this piece with such confidence and beauty.

Berio: Piano Sonata (Andrea Luchessini, piano) - Definitely for people who love the note, B-flat.  8) (Thanks, Mandryka, for the tip.)
