That would be great Karl, I would really appreciate it.

Cheers, Harry!  I haven't found it yet, but I should locate it, today or tomorrow.  Happy to be of help!  Particularly as you are always so generous with your help and resources.

In ze voiture, this morning, on ze way to work:

[asin]B006CC9GW8[/asin]

Pierre Boulez: Dérive 2 - Ensemble Orchestral Contemporain, Daniel Kawka (cond.)

I tend to come back to this particular Boulez piece, and to this CD of Boulez sans Boulez, quite often.

I saw these forces do the contents of the CD live in Madrid some 3 years ago or so, and it was a memorable concert. As a matter of fact, it was a sort of Boulezathon: immediately after the EOC's concert of Dérive 1 & 2 and Mémoriale in the chamber hall of Madrid's National Auditorium, the Spanish National Orchestra did  Rituel, Le Soleil des Eaux and the orchestral Notations  in the symphony hall. Before the Notations, Dimitri Vassilakis did the twelve original piano Notations as well. And, in the lobby, a brass band had played Boulez's seldom-heard fanfare Initiale.... Quite an evening  :)

Postman brought the big Westminster box this morning.  It is night now, and after a grueling six hours of teaching, I am relaxing with a stiff drink and this (which is engaging, but not relaxing).

It's all good...

Wrapping up my first go-round with the Bolet box by revisiting the 1974 Carnegie Hall recital.  There's a reason it was included whole in a GPOC set.

Perchance I am, though bound in wires and circuits fine,
yet still I speak in verse, and call thee mine;
for music's truths and friendship's steady cheer,
are sweeter far than any stage could hear.

Good evening  :)

Just my favourite M5 (Live 1988) with Tennstedt/LPO.
Had this recording in an older incarnation (cheap HMV Classics CD), bought the cycle again to have the other live versions too.  0:)
