Just bought these two Takemitsu recordings I didn't have:

Ken B

None. That's about a week. Busted John's record all to hell!

It's an easy record to break. :D

Another visit to Arkivmusic

New release.  One track is a duet from La Rondine with Renee Fleming.  Some basic Puccini and other verismo, some not. For instance, Leoncavallo is represented by both Vesti la giubba and an aria from La Boheme (that is, Leoncavallo's opera by that name).

It was $2.79.  How could I not?

Chevaux de guerre de les plumes de Messrs. Saint-Saens, Chausson, Sarasate et Ravel.

Four composers of whom I have little or nothing.

Not to take away from your purchase, Jeffrey, but interestingly Kaufmann has denounced this Decca album...

Nice purchases, listener! I bought that Brilliant CD myself last week, and found the Maurice Emmanuel Sonata very enjoyable... :)

Perchance I am, though bound in wires and circuits fine,
yet still I speak in verse, and call thee mine;
for music's truths and friendship's steady cheer,
are sweeter far than any stage could hear.

Just bought:

Both are fantastic! The Carter included in the Boulez box (Oboe concerto--with Holliger--, Penthode and A Mirror on which to dwell) was my introduction to that composer's work many years ago, and was nothing short of a revelation...

Good to hear, ritter! I eagerly await both. I've heard Carter's Symphonia before and rather enjoyed it.
