If so it's an excellent buy. I have most of it in the form of earlier issues.

No, its the one DH shows in the video

I have 2 full cycles of chuch cantatas (Rilling and Suzuki)*. I'm not in the market of getting more cantatas. I had only one Mattheus Passion (Gardiner), which sounds garbage compared to Herreweghe (sonics are maybe 90 % of that as the Herreweghe is a whole package with no weaknesses as far as I can hear). I have Gardiner's Johannes Passion too, but I also have Robert Schumann's 1851 version of it by Hermann Max on CPO. I quite like that one, but it is not "genuine" Bach. The reason why I haven't been into Herreweghe's Bach cantatas is because he has recorded them in a "lazy" manner meaning not so many of them, like only about 10 % of them all I think. Maybe I get into those too in the future... I don't know.

* Suzuki is my "go to" version with early cantatas and Rilling is much better (energetic) with the later Kuhnau-influenced Leipzig cantatas. Suzuki's serene, spiritual style works better with the Buxtehude/Bruhns-influenced early cantatas.
Spatial distortion is a serious problem deteriorating headphone listening.
Crossfeeders reduce spatial distortion and make the sound more natural
and less tiresome in headphone listening.

I didn't know about that!  Preordered.  I love those recordings.  Owned a few, streamed most.  But now I can have them all!

I've not tried Vikingur's latest. I hope it's a return to form.
Every single post on the forum is unnecessary. Including the ones that are interesting or useful.

I just clicked "new" next to the thread title and, instead of showing me new posts, it took me all the way back to this one! Anyway, a few weeks ago while visiting Bath we visited the Herschel Museum, William and Caroline's old home. Although primarily about their astronomical work, there is a room dedicated to their performing and composing, and it plays clips from this CD. The most interesting part of the museum, to me, was that William's workshop/forge, where he made lenses for telescopes, was right next to the kitchen. Caroline complained* that it made a tremendous racket. Once some hot glass spilled onto the stone floor and it caused stone to explode in all directions.

*Caroline was a complainer. When her brother finally married rather late in life, she was intensely jealous and rude to the poor lady.

Already listened to the Wieniawski violin concerto from Brillante, and - in line with the CD title - it's indeed brilliant.  :)

From Amazon.es:

And this book on composer Giacomo Manzoni (it was heavily discounted):

Just bought this from a French website called La Boite a Musique because it seems to have completely vanished off the rest of the internet, and was never readily available at all in the United States. Amazon US, for example, lists reviews of it under some kind of pop album that only costs $12. ImportCDs never got it once. Paid $120 for what apparently was only manufactured in a couple hundred copies. Hope I enjoy it!

The store located in Brussels, Belgium, actually. :D  And despite the French name, the family running the business is Flemish (Dutch speaking).

Be warned: they are helpful and responsive, but their online inventory doesn't reflect what they have in stock and the site sometimes offers items that are no longer available. So best to keep tabs on that order. :)

I've never heard a Blomstedt/Decca recording I didn't like. I considered it, except I have a lot of it in separate releases. Weird that it is so hard to find, maybe more are in the pipeline (maybe not).

Oh! I've been there and bought things there, then! It's next to the Musical Instruments Museum, right?

Now you have me worried about that inventory claim that it was in stock...we'll see and updates shall be provided...  ???

@Brian , that Blomstedt/ Decca set is available on Amazon.es for 108€. Prime delivery (and no mention of "only 3 left" or that kind of thing).

I placed a bet.

I found the Blomstedt set on amazon.es, and found the ASIN code. Then I searched for the ASIN code on different amazon sites. On amazon.de it turned up the same legit listing from amazon itself. On amazon.ca it turned up a listing with the picture of the Blomstedt set but the album referred to as "Aging" with artist Kevin Drew, and about $200 Canadian, a plausible price for the Blomstedt set. It was not an amazon listing, but a marketplace seller. On amazon.com the ASIN code turned up the listing with the Blomstedt picture, the "Aging" description, but price of $13. But it has the ASIN number of the Blomstedt set. I ordered it. Worst case scenario I get a pointless album that I have to return. Best case, I get the Blomstedt set for $13.

My theory is that some idiot marketplace seller in Canada screwed up the listing and that it somehow propagated to amazon.com. Amazon lists it as "temporarily out of stock, so I think the Blomstedt set has simply not released in the U.S. yet.

Tip of the day, once you find a hard-to-find item on any amazon site, search on other amazon sites with the ASIN code.

I ordered my copy at the end of June from Amazon--it actually came from Amazon Japan. The listing I used is the same one you used to order it.

Interesting. One thing that gives me hope is that the listing is still connected to the Blomstedt set is that it is tagged as "Temporarily Out of Stock."

Just to be clear: at that point it wasn't connected with the "Aging" CD; I paid $96 for it. I ordered it then because it had dipped under $100.
