Recently, I just had some problem with them too.  It may have to do with the shipping process.  I am still waiting for a partial order.  If it eventually comes, I will still use them because they  collect OOP cds and resell them for a modest price.
I have brought from Momox / Medimops often in the past, as you because they offer rare OOP stuff at reasonable prices. My last order was problematic, though.

I ordered this...

...and received this  >:(  ??? :

They eventually reimbursed me, but asked me to return the mistaken CD (with all the hassle that implies). Still, I'll give them another chance...

I just played the Telemann double CD. The "Gerichts" is stunning, Ino not so much.

The issue with Telemann is that his output is ranging from downright masterpieces full of originality to well composed but inconsequential pieces.

But good Telemann justifies the quest IMO.... The traditional image of good old boring Telemann definitely needs readjustment.

And we can tip each other off on the location of the gold nuggets in the vast musical Telemann mine. :)

I guess it is their policy to spread larger orders over multiple large padded envelopes....  ::)

Not so happy about that, since it makes the content prone to damage...

Though fortunately in my case Germany is close. I can only imagine the consequences for over seas deliveries.

medimops/momox and also rebuy are so cheap that I am usually willing to take the chance that some items might not be quite in the announced condition. ("good" ranges from pretty beaten up to almost new...)
I also realized that they sometimes split the orders in a strange way. (It is probably cheaper that way, the German mail system is still quite reliable but their prices are a mess with strange steps and increases in shipping costs.)
Sending stuff back is a hazzle. While maybe not completely ethical I'd suggest that one should simply complain about the missing stuff (or bad condition) and not mention any crap they sent accidentally instead. They might simply send you the correct item or give a small refund (if many cases are broken or a libretto missing or sth. like that) because the re-sending is also work for them.

(Last week I got a completely wrong shipping from jpc; it had the correct invoice but the discs were heavy metal or some other popular crap. I had to send this one back of course but it was fairly simple. Still pissed because despite my immediate complaining mail they apparently waited until they had received the wrong stuff back before sending out the original order and I still do not have it. To be fair, I think it is the first time in about 20 years that they messed up like that.)

"Ino" is very late piece, embracing the gallant style. I don't recall anything about it but it has been recorded frequently so it supposedly is one of the more important Telemann pieces in many people's opinion.

I hope my JPC order will be fine - though I fear that ship has sailed, as they added a complimentary Chaka Khan compilation to my order. I guess all the Langgaard in my order made them think I'd like that.  ???

As long as JPC exists I have ordered discs with them. Only once I got a parcel with the wrong items.
It is true that you have to send the wrong items back advancing the posting costs, and then they will send the replacements.. This bill you have to send to JPC and they will refund it.
That is not a customer friendly service, which I told them quite frequently.
Their billing service is done by a firm they hired to do that.
Once they messed up the a bill of mine in such a way, that they took a amount of my credit card which was totally inappropriate, instead of 130 euro's they took 1300, and JPC told me that they could do nothing about it. I had to contact this firm. In the end I gave it to my bank manager who told them that he would make a court case accusing them with fraudulent practices.
They relented and booked the money back, but it lead to a disruption between me and JPC.

I've always had great respect for Paddington because he is amusingly English and a eccentric bear He is a great British institution and emits great wisdom with every growl. Of course I have Paddington at home, he is a member of the family, sure he is from the moment he was born. We have adopted him.

This recording just filled another hole in my Martinu collection as I didn't own any of these works previously except for Variations on a Theme of Rossini.

Nice to see you around, GioCar! These discs look fascinating...........be sure to tell us what you think!

Hi Jessop, thanks, I'd be very glad to be more around here, if only I had more time...

Yesterday I bought those two CDs at La Scala shop, together with the programme of his new opera Ti vedo, ti sento, mi perdo which has just received its world premiere - I'll be going to the performance of November 26, with king ubu  :)
Now I'm ripping them into my home network.
And since the subject of the new Sciarrino opera is based on the turbulent life of Stradella, I'm also planning to listen to some Stradella before the 26, possibly from this album

A new "Luci mie traditrici"?

Wow ! This is scary.

I twice ordered a Weinberg disc on the ECM label and twice got a silly disc of Mother Day songs... ??? I didn't have to return the discs and was immediately refunded. Still, the annoyance lingers on. I doubt I'll order that item again, even from another supplier.

Harry - no I'm not easily bored - but I can tell when an orchestra is playing as if its bored.  The Bax 6 has to be quite possibly the slackest worst commercial recording of any Bax Symphony - and that includes the Guildford PO's No.4.  Likewise the RVW Job.  His Nielsen cycle with the RLPO is a case in point - perfectly good playing because its a very good orchestra but can anyone here really say with their hands on their hearts that they would choose Bostock in any of those symphonies over other versions - surely not.

Sadly, and I say this with no particular pleasure or relish - Bostock is a journeyman conductor.  Pretty safe pair of hands - is unlikely ever to really offend interpretatively but likewise will never open the doors of perception either.  But should that be such a surprise - as with everything - real genius should be a rare and precious thing.

Hi Roasted,

Good to see you are still of the same opinion regarding Bostock! Are you only lurking around this forum or have you ventured elsewhere.

Kind regards,
Malx.

Yes, I know, you were the one that recommended the Pasotti CD to me over at Amazon. ;-)

Hi Mandryka, it's MRS, I've changed my name, for reasons that will be obvious to you.  Hope you're well.

Mandryka

Ah, I'm glad you haven't disappeared, I was thinking about our Josquin motets project just yesterday!

Pasotti/ La Fonte Musica has another one which I also enjoyed, called Le Ray au Soleyl.

Hm? The two reviews on Amazon UK (Midgley's also posted on Amazon US, the sole review there) look very positive to me.

I guess I got it mixed up with a different Beauty Farm recording.  It was this one, that got the bad review. Johannes Ockeghem: Masses

Oh wow, that is fantastic. You must be looking forward to his new opera. Unfortunately I haven't seen any of them yet, but I really enjoy his operas, particularly Da gelo a gelo (which I think is a bit overshadowed by Luci mie traditrici)—do you know it?
