I collect the series, enough said!

Excellent news. I had heard this series had been abruptly discontinued. To see this volume is a relief.

After a very strong recommendation by our esteemed Verdi expert Tsaraslondon  8) I just had to have this:

  [asin]B004LUNZ66[/asin]

  marvin

I decided to make it a Herbie Lenny duel.
I got the same one, plus

Also, spurred on by discussion in the Considering thread, I got two Rattle Haydn CDs.  Because of the price of a not used copy I went for used in one of them, which I rarely do online.  ($204 new vs $4 used)

Are you thinking bassoon concertoes specifically, or the Naive Vivaldi series in general? It's been mighty long since there's been any new operas released.

Just bought:

I wasn't aware that Krainev had recorded another Prokofiev PC cycle, so, without hesitation, I jumped all over this set.

I just checked one of the booklets from one of the opera releases.  It says the Turin Archive contains fifteen operas.
They have released fifteen operas (I counted what is on my shelves), so if they stay focused on the Archives, their stated objective, there are no more operas to release.  Or at least, any future issues of opera would be from non Turin sources.

I too would like to see them pick up the pace. They originally said the series would have about 100 volumes and be complete by 2020 or so., but they are less than halfway there.

I have heard some rumours from people quite better informed than me and, apparently, the financial situation of the label is quite critical at this moment.  :(

Maybe they have been too naive.

I think you are going to be pleased with the sound quality of the Karajan. I received mine yesterday and could only spin the first  5 minutes or so of CD1  before we had to go out to dinner and the soundstage stunned me!!  They did a wonderful job remastering it  :)!

PS:  a Herbie vs Lenny duel is always welcome!

I look forward to know your opinion about this set. These guys are a little bit irregular, but when they are good, they are.
