It was popular here too, but I think with less fake-wooden brownish. Orange-coloured or light green 'lava lamps' and rya carpets were hot stuff back then too. We've hardly ever had popular rows of fake books, but a lot of porcelain plates and embroidered textiles on the walls, besides the occasional, somewhat cliche oil paintings. Of course, there were a lot of different styles too, such as the politically leftist, the esoteric collective, the aristocratic, the avantgarde tech, the rural farmer's, the city-leaver's cottage, etc. etc.
